COUNSELLOR’S CORNER
Christmas is the season of joy. Joy gives birth to hope and we cannot live without hope. One must not forget that the reason we celebrate Christmas is because, God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. This is the good news that we were given thousands of years ago, for all people and it still holds the truth.
Joy comes when we trust the Lord. We have a God who loves us more than we imagine, a God who is more powerful than we can comprehend and who has promised to help us if we put our trust in Him. Engrave this in your heart, God wants to help you.
Tips for making your Christmas more joyful and meaningful.
- Use the days to connect with more people.
- Give a creative gift from the heart instead of purchasing from the store.
- Deliver a food basket to a homeless person.
- Write a letter to someone you need to forgive or whom you’ve offended.
- Do a good deed everyday.
- Sit down with your family and spend quality time with them.
- Deliver cakes and sweets to your neighbours, friends and relatives.
Joy is important in our lives because studies show that joyful people have less chances of having a heart attack, they maintain a healthier blood pressure level and tend to have lower cholesterol levels. Joy boosts our immune system, fights stress and pain, and improves our chances of living a longer life.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2023.
